I’ve gotta agree. I was expecting a whole Sailor Moon-esque transformation sequence. (I was not expecting such a thing, but it was something I thought of).

Yeah I felt it important to show that the transformation is pretty much instant. there is no transition
As it is the two physical bodies gets swapped over and there is no transition between the two

Yes it wouldn't be practical to have a transformation when it could be done instantly
The only reason to have a transformation would be to make it easier for other people
Which is sometimes the case some programs put in fake loading screens for example when they're not needed
